Last week, Rep. Bill Cassidy from the 6th District of Louisiana submitted a resolution recognizing the efforts of career and technical colleges to educate and train workers for positions in high-demand industries. Â The resolution outlines the expected growth in emerging industries, the lack of skilled workers in many of these industries, and the work that career and technical colleges are doing to prepare individuals for the workforce.
While this resolution will not have the force of law, it is exciting for the CTE community to be recognized by a Congressman for all its efforts in preparing students for the workforce. The resolution has been referred to the House Education and Labor Committee for consideration.
